0 responses 0 comments The Tehachapi Tomahawks, a member of the Golden Empire Youth Football League, have announced their football schedule for the new season. The varsity, junior varsity, sophomore and freshman teams will each be playing the same opponent each week, with the first five regular season games all home contests at Benz-Visco fields and the final two regular season match-ups away games at Arvin and Stockdale high schools, respectively.
Last season, three Tomahawk teams made the playoffs, with the freshman finishing with a 4-4 record, and the sophomore and junior varsity programs finishing with identical 6-2 marks.
All Tomahawk teams are currently conducting practices. For information on the teams, call head coaches Mitch Smith (varsity) 822-1715, Ed Bullard (junior varsity) 822-6728, Brian Copus (sophomore) 822-8475, or Larry Christy (freshman) 822-7854.
The Tomahawks first game action will be a scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Benz-Visco fields. All four teams will be scrimmaging Shafter.
