Though the evening began with temperatures a bit on the warm side, our cool Tehachapi breeze did arrive, along with a gorgeous moonlit sky to illuminate the beautiful grounds at the home of David and Leslie Kimball. This set the atmosphere for everyone having a wonderful time at the third annual Wine Tasting Festival.
The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce (GTCC) and the Tehachapi Area Association of Realtors (TAAR) have deemed the third annual Wine Tasting Festival a success. This year, wineries providing quality wines were: Antelope Valley Winery, Guimarra Vineyards, McClean Vineyards, Souza Family Vineyards, Vista Del Rey Vineyards, Wilson Creek Winery and the Wine Warehouse. The participating restaurants and caterers that provided delicious hors d'oeuvres were: Desserts by Kathleen, Don Juan's Grill, Jakes Steak House, Samba Foods, the Apple Shed and Wild Wind Ranch.
“ Our third annual wine tasting was very successful and we are already looking forward to next year,” said Kathy Carey, event chairwoman of BVS Properties.
“Without the support and participation of the sponsors, we would not have been able to present such an enjoyable event,” said Pete Sturn of Hall Ambulance Service and chamber chairman. “Our appreciation goes to our Champagne Sponsors, Highland Construction and Oak Valley, Inc.; Red Wine Sponsors, Klein, DeNatale, Goldner, Cooper, Rosenlieb & Kimball, LLP. and Old Towne Nursery; White Wine Sponsors, Chicago Title Company, Country Real Estate and Joni Gibson; Table Sponsors: C.O.S. Mini Storage, Heritage Oaks, LandAmerica Commonwealth, Law Office of Phillip H. Darling, Oaktree Medical Group, Re/Max Tehachapi, Inc., Solveig Thompson and the Tehachapi Performing Arts Center Foundation.”
“An event such as this takes a team of people working together,” said Ida Rennie, chamber president. “A very special thank you goes to David and Leslie Kimball for the use of their beautiful home, Pat James, who provided the beautiful artwork for advertising; the committee, Kathy Carey, BVS Properties; Alice Juckes, TAAR; Pete Sturn, Hall Ambulance Service; and Leslie Kimball, C.O.S. Mini Storage.”
Behind the scenes there are always more to thank: Susan Burt, GTCC; Myra Fletcher, TAAR; Scott and Christie Friesen, 'hachapi Tees; Mike Walters, Albertson's, and the many volunteers that helped with set up, serving, and clean up.
Pete Sturn did an excellent job as auctioneer making it an entertaining part of the evening. Thank you to those who donated items for the silent and live auctions: Re/Max Tehachapi, Inc., Julie Amstutz, Coldwell Banker Best Realty, Susan Burt, Jim and Jan Morgan, Dennis and Lynne Freeman, Tehachapi Real Estate, Expressions Salon, Aggie Hernandez, Alliance Title Company, Leslie and David Kimball, First American Title Company, B.J.
