Tehachapi High School has scheduled orientation for new and returning students.

On Tuesday, Aug. 15, seniors, juniors and sophomores should plan to be in attendance to pick up ID cards, schedules and textbooks. Pictures for ID cards were taken in May, therefore, the orientation process should be significantly streamlined this year.

It is imperative that students arrive at the THS Gymnasium at the appropriate time with their signed emergency card in hand.

The goal is for all students to check out textbooks from the library prior to the first day of school. The assigned times for 10-12 grade students for schedules, textbook pickup, and ID pictures is as follows:

Seniors: 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Juniors: 10 a.m. –  12 p.m.
Sophomores: 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Freshmen and new student orientation begins at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16 in the THS Gymnasium.

Parking for the gymnasium is on Valley Blvd.

Freshmen will be picking up ID cards, schedules and checking out textbooks. Students will have an opportunity to tour the campus.

Students may also purchase PE clothing as well as ASB stickers. Newsletters were mailed on Aug. 4. Emergency cards, Internet use agreements, parking permit applications and the THS dress code guidelines were enclosed in the newsletter. Parents are requested to complete and sign all forms.

Students must bring their signed emergency cards to receive their schedules. ID cards and schedules are required to pick up textbooks.

Classes begin Aug. 21 at 7:30 a.m.

Registration for new students is by appointment. Please call 822-2146 to schedule an appointment with one of the counselors.

You may call the office at 822-2130 if you have questions or did not receive a newsletter packet. Remember, no schedules can be distributed without the signed emergency card.
