Services were held Saturday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. at Tehachapi First Baptist Church for Naomi Lynn Christy, 16, who passed away on Monday, Aug. 21, in Los Angeles.
Naomi was born Jan. 31, 1990, in Bakersfield. She attended Tehachapi High School and was active in her church youth group. She had an undeniable love of life and a heart big enough for all of us. She never complained, always thinking and worrying about everybody else first. All she really wanted was love and acceptance. She had unconditional love for everyone she knew. Naomi will always be our little angel.
Naomi is survived by her parents, Larry and Symantha Christy, of Tehachapi; brothers Jeffrey Jason Starn and Larry Gene Christy, Jr., of Tehachapi; sister, Ashley Nicole Christy, also of Tehachapi; grandparents John and Donna Christy, of Keene, and Butch and Dale Herrera, of Tehachapi; great-grandparents Cliff and Billie Storie, of Keene; mother Suzanne Herrera, of Bakersfield; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Naomi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Don and Peggy Starn.
Pastor Gabe Miles conducted the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery – Westside. Wood family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Naomi's name to Mattel's Childrens Hospital at UCLA for Autoimmune Disease research.
