A Memorial Service was held Sept. 1 at Wood Family Funeral Service for Tehachapi resident Logan Edward Nowell, 94, who passed away Aug. 25 in Bakersfield.

Logan was born Feb. 3, 1912 in Los Angeles, to parents William Edward and Olive Brown Nowell. 

He spent 50 years in the construction business as a builder. Logan moved to the Tehachapi area 4 years ago.

Nowell is survived by his sons, David and Johanna Nowell of Tehachapi, and Douglas and Linda Nowell of San Dimas; daughter, Sylvia and Dick Goins of Palm Springs; grandchildren Kristen Dawson of Friday Harbour, Wash., David and Lisa Nowell of Placencia, Brian and Risana Nowell of Huntington Beach, Heidi and Keith Gerling of Palm Springs, Gary Goins of Palm Springs, Eric and Michelle Black of Arcadia, Leaha and Ed Ward, Janyce and Ken Allan, Cheryl and Richard Nuckles, Deidre and Bob Wilson, Rick and Angie Bond and Steve Bond. 

Logan raised two families. He is also survived by Charles Spray, Cleone Blackledge, Harriete Sandell, Sandy Berg, Cheryl Cobb and Teresa Grove.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Nowell and his grandson, Craig Nowell.

Reverend Andrew Walker conducted the service. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
