The smashing Broadway Comedy, “6 Rms Riv Vu” is Tehachapi Community Theatre’s 2006-2007 season opener. Written by Bob Randall and directed by Karl Schuck, this delightful play takes you on a journey through a vacant New York apartment where you’ll meet prospective tenants who are desperate for rent controlled living quarters. Toss in a broken doorknob, an indoor picnic for two and a flooding kitchen, and you’re set for an evening of love and laughter.

Featuring the talents of Debbie Whitlock and Elias Garcia, the ensemble also includes a variety of TCT favorites in surprise cameo roles, including David Shacklock, Jackie Lawlor, Harry Miller, Chelsea Potter and Monica Nadon, with newcomer Donavan Winterfeld rounding out the cast. Set designer, Ken Chugg, does double duty as assistant director.

“6 Rms Riv Vu” will perform Friday and Saturday nights, September 22, 23, 29 & 30 at 7:45 p.m. at Tehachapi Academy of Performing Arts located at 48771 Valley Blvd., between Tucker and Mountain View.

With the start of the season, new tickets prices are $9.00 presale and $12.00 at-the-door. Seniors (62 & up) pay only $9.00 whether presale or at-the-door. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Apple Shed, Tehachapi Art Center, Old Towne Nursery or Johnny’s Take n’ Bake. Make advance ticket purchases before 5 p.m. on the day of the performance. After 5 p.m., tickets may be purchased at the theatre at 7:15 when doors open. For more information please call the TCT Hotline at 822-4037.
