Under Construction

Lately, here in Tehachapi, we have been experiencing a lot of construction. We have all had to slow down or stop as roads and sidewalks were being improved.

Whenever there is a long term construction project, people are forced to make sacrifices. Pedestrians, drivers and even business owners need to be patient until the improvements are completed.

The Bible tells us that the people of God are a lot like a construction project. The Lord is always involved in a long term project to make improvements in His kingdom.

In the Book of Ephesians, God describes the church as a building project which is being built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. Now all Christians are part of God's construction project.

God is slowly and gradually shaping us and molding us. He is guiding us to grow in our faith and our ability to serve Him.

We may think it is a terrible inconvenience when God allows us to face hardships or difficult challenges in our life. But God is using these things to help us become a person who trusts Him and uses our blessings for Him.

God's plan for our salvation is also a long-term project. God decided to send His Son into the world to live without sin and die for us.

But this did not happen for many generations. Finally, in God's timing, and according to God's purpose, our Lord fulfilled the prophecies and won our salvation.

Now we need to see our life as a long term construction project of God. He is not going to give us immediately all worldly possessions and pleasures.

We must trust God's timing and His guidance. Even when we have to go through some difficult times of construction, we trust God's plan for our life.
