A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church for longtime Tehachapi resident, Charlsie Fay Tabor, who passed away Oct. 10. Visitation will be at Wood Family Funeral Service on Monday, Oct. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Tabor was born to Clyde E. and Mary Esther Dobbs Robinson on Jan. 29, 1931 in Coal Hill, Johnson County, Ark. On July 5, 1947, in Dumas, Ark., she married the love of her life, Walter Tabor. In 1952 they relocated to Kern County. Charlsie worked for 25 years at Tehachapi Hospital as an office manager.

Charlsie was a wonderful friend and an inspiration to others. She was a devout Christian and very active at First Baptist Church. She very much enjoyed cooking and the church loved her “chocolate pie.” She shared her love of music with her family and they often sang together.

Mrs. Tabor is survived by her husband, Walter; children, Sandy and David Hutchison, and Randy and Leanne Tabor; grandchildren, Ronnie and Kim Tabor, Jennifer and Erik Goerzen, Marc and Leslie Tabor, Cole and Amanda Tabor and Darius Hutchison and Matthew Tabor; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Clyde and June Robinson, Wanda Robinson, Curtis and Beverly Robinson, Johnnie and Vicki Robinson and Bonnie and Dennis Linn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Robinson.

Following the service, interment will take place at Tehachapi Public Cemetery - Eastside. Reverend Ron Barker will officiate the services. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
