0 responses 0 comments A mass and Christian burial was held on Monday, Oct. 9 at the San Diego Mission de Alcala for Dr. Jerry L. Humpert, 62, a former teacher, coach and administrator at Tehachapi High School.
Humpert was born Dec. 8, 1943 in Evansville, Ind. His first teaching position was at Tehachapi High School, where he met and married Sherryl Warner. After leaving Tehachapi, Humpert worked at Cal State Bakersfield and two community colleges in the San Diego area. They made their home in El Cajon.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kari Parker and Marci Lecture; two grandchildren; his mother, Esther Humpert and two brothers, Ron and Dale Humpert.
Reverend William Springer presided at the mass for the popular educator. He was interred at Singing Hills Memorial Park in El Cajon.
