Accomplished poet, dear and wonderful friend, caring mother, grandmother, accused of spoiling a time or two, and beloved wife, Cheryl ‘Cee Cee’ Marlene Comstock passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22. She was 54. Many who met Cee Cee instantly became part of her continually growing family. The pain and discomfort that she experienced in her final days did not slow down her enormous heart or loving petite arms.
Cheryl first blessed us on Feb. 4, 1952, in Winter Haven, Fla., born to Roy Milton and Bessie Mae Holly Reese. On July 7, 1990, she “tied the knot” to her best friend and the love of her life, Craig Comstock, making him the “luckiest man on earth,” in Bullhead City, Ariz. Cheryl worked in general merchandising for nine years at SaveMart.
Cheryl will be missed by countless souls she so willingly touched. She is survived by her husband, Craig Comstock, of Tehachapi; children, Peggy Comstock, of Lancaster, Pamela and Ted DeWitt, of Tehachapi, Jodie and Kevin Love, of Tehachapi, Daren Lawhon and Tina Turner, of Tehachapi, and Jordan Lawhon and Shelby Conklin, of Bakersfield; grandchildren Anthony Vincent Comstock, of Lancaster, Kassandra Raykell Cruz, of Tehachapi, Zane Elijah Cruz, of Tehachapi, Eric Michael Comstock, of Lancaster, Tanner Destin Love, of Tehachapi, Tylar Jaden Love, of Tehachapi, Caydence Broke Lawhon, of Tehachapi and Harmony Pari Lawhon, of Bakersfield. She is also survived by her father Roy Milton Reese, of Winter Haven, Fla.; siblings, Hazel Reese, of Winter Haven, Fla.; Rettie Cannon-Coquille, of Oregon; Roynell Giuliano, of Winter Haven, Fla.; Harold Reese, of Winter Haven, Fla., and Franklin Delano Reese, of Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Mae Reese; brother, Harry Reese and sister, Gwendolyn Reese.
