The historic Errea House in downtown Tehachapi is dressed in its Christmas best as the Tehachapi Heritage League once again sponsors a Christmas celebration in the oldest house in town.
The now-annual event invites local antique dealers and merchants to stock the rooms of the 1870s home with household items that are for sale. A portion of the proceeds will go towards continuing renovation of this picturesque local treasure.
The house itself has been decorated with a local Christmas tree, garlands and greenery provided by Steve and Diana Palmer. Docents are on hand to provide information about this historic home, and free refreshments are offered. Admission is free and touring the Errea House is a great way to help kick-start your Christmas spirit, which can get a little jaded after a hectic visit to a shopping mall.
Seeing this handsome old home decorated and full of life, with friendly people visiting and enjoying the Christmas season is a positive and joyful way to welcome December into the valley.
Among the merchants contributing items are Collector’s Eye, Le Marche, Lady Electric, Mountain Antiques and Collectibles, Praire House Potpourri, Samba Foods, Souza Wines, Tehachapi Candle Company, Tehachapi Heritage League, Tehachapi Coffee Roasters and Tehachapi Flower Shop.
The Errea House is located on South Green Street across from the Tehachapi Museum. Hours for the Christmas event are 12 noon to 7 p.m. and will continue on December 9-10 and 16-17.
Have a good week.
