When's the last time you tried to get some current information from the City Hall website?

The latest posting on the Police Chief is circa last November. It is listed there as still "interviewing," even though Chief Kermody was sworn in on November 27th!

And, get this, the latest "Newsletter" is dated November. 2004!

I mentioned this to Jason Caudle several weeks ago at a City Council meeting and even sent him an e-mail. No response or acknowledgment.

Now, SOMEONE there is keeping this site up to date because 3 weeks ago they added SNOWFLAKES to the site. Isn't that important? I mean, hell, I can look out my window and see snowflakes but I can't look out my window to see the latest news from City Hall.

Ed Grimes and/or Stan Beckham, if you're reading this,  can you light a fire under someone's backside there to keep us, The Citizens and Electorate of the City of Tehachapi, aware of CURRENT status from the City Hall web site?

Hey Jim, You have me laughing so hard I can hardly contain myself. I too noticed the all important snow flakes. I've gotta love you Jim, this post is the best yet, and so REAL!!!

I believe our man Stan wants to transcibe and/or record all meetings and he will have this information on his website/blog (that we can comment on) in the near future. I think once we start going to Stan's site instead of City Hall's site they will feel a loss of CONTROL and start updating their site as well. DO YOU HEAR ME CITY HALL??? (grin)  Thus far it seems electing Stan is a good thing for Tehachapi. Perhaps finally we will know what is really going on here, and we will also have a say about it.

The web site needs to be kept up to date! I do not concur that having the "official" city news on one councilman's web site is the way to go. I agree that good info needs to (and will be provided) by Stan on his web site, but it should not be an "official" alternative site. Stan is human like all councilpersons, and he should not become "the council" or its official site. That is wrong. The City needs to get its act together and keep the site current, and the best thing Stan can do is to ensure that that is done (NOT construct an alternate "official" site so to speak). We elected Stan to do a job--not to go off on his own as if he were going to become the council. I am sure he will roll up his sleeves and either get the City to bring the site up to date or tell us why that is not possible (???). Keep up the good work Stan.
