Services were held Thursday, Jan. 18, for Bear Valley Springs resident James Ralph McIntyre, Jr., 54, who passed away on Jan. 14 in Tehachapi.

James was born on June 22, 1952, to James Ralph and Doretha Marie McIntyre in Butler, Pa.

In 1972, on July 1, he married Susan Mary Pellegrini. James was hard working and dedicated. He retired from the United States Air Force as the crew chief for the B52 bomber after 20 years of service. Following that, he continued working for an additional 10 years as a civil service employee as a maintenance scheduler at Edwards Air Force Base.

James was a huge football fan and the Pittsburgh Steelers were his team. He loved to work on cars and watched NASCAR faithfully. His favorite driver was Dale Ernhardt, Jr.

Being from Pennsylvania originally, he found the four seasons of Tehachapi to his liking and loved living in Bear Valley Springs. He was passionate about his work, hobbies and family, especially his grandson, Arron.

Mr. McIntyre is survived by his wife, Susan, of Bear Valley Springs; son, James Scott McIntyre, of Lancaster; daughter, Danielle Lynn Eastburn, of Lancaster; grandson, Aaron Evans Eastburn, also of Lancaster; and sisters, Judith Smith, of Prospect, Pa. and Jean Wilson, of Kileen, Texas.

Graveside service and interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force Blue Eagles Honor Guard.

Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Air Force Aide Society.
