It is nice to know that there are still nice people who will give a dying man comfort, but it is a very sad day indeed when the Tehachapi News resorts to sensationalism at this level in a feeble atempt to support what they believe is "journalism." What if it was their father or brother or son that was pasted on the front page of the news, in pain and dying?
What's next? Dead US troops? You can find that kind of thing on U Tube guys! Wake up!
At first glance I thought that it was a mock-up, I know that in the past the local law enforcement has worked with emergency services to conduct disaster preparedness drills. There were pictures in the Tehachapi News of psudo-injured individuals lying in the street with fake blood and EMT's were offering these indviduals aid.
This however is very wrong! Perhaps the folks at Tehachapi News have had their minds numbed so much by the onslaught of entertainment media sound-bytes that they can no longer distinguish between fantasy and reality, between appropriate and inappropriate.
Shame on you all!

I agree with the above poster, I did not appreciate that picture I wasn't expecting to see that when I saw at the paper at the store. I thought they would run the photo that was on the Internet post, which only showed the police car. It made me feel sick inside for that man and I hope he didn't suffer for to long. We all knew someone died I don't think we need to see it.... I say that for myself and everyone else who agrees.

I didn't think that photo was as bad as that. It was taken by one of the nicest guys around. He took it from far off, and it didn't show very much. If you didn't know that the victim died later no one would have much to say about the photo. I was touched by the fact that the lady in the photo got down on her knees to comfort him in his time of need. There was a photo of the Oklahoma bombing that showed a firefighter holding a deceased baby and it made the cover of Time. The Tehachapi News photo to me didn't show death it showed mankind at its best. I am sorry for the family to have to see it, but at lest they know that someone was holding him and he was not alone.

I know the picture was run with the idea of showing compassion. I didn't like it but I understand the intent was good and the reality is good or bad, happy or sad right or wrong- Thats what news is all about.

Shane, I agree with you on this one. However, I'm glad to hear BOTH views, since this was still America the last I checked, and we can agree to disagree.
