We would like to again express our appreciation to Camp Canine. This business stepped in to help when needed, as they recently helped us while a member provided aid to a person who was really having difficulties and asked for assistance.
We were contacted by a lady who was moving to Las Vegas. She was involved in a vehicle accident on Hwy. 99 near Bakersfield and seriously injured. In the course of things, her two dogs got loose and lost. One dog was found at the Bakersfield shelter, but the other has yet not been found. Her found dog had no way to get to her in Las Vegas and, as she is still recuperating, she had no way to get here to retrieve it.
We put the word out to our membership and Mary Cunningham stepped up to the rescue. The only problem was that Mary has a dog of her own and no way to care for it while she was delivering the wayward dog. Up steps Camp Canine. They boarded her dog for two nights without charge to her so she was able to complete her act of kindness.
Now this is what I call community involvement. Thanks to Mary, Camp Canine and Tehachapi Humane Society we were able to bring about a tremendously moving reunion. What a great coming together.
