Members of the American Legion, Post 221, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5948, and their respective Auxiliaries, wish to express their heartfelt thanks to community members for their assistance in helping to finance the mailing costs for their Packages for the Troops program. This is an ongoing event and the two Veterans groups wish to extend their most grateful thanks for the generous monetary donations given by local businesses and residents to help defray the mailing fees. They are: Chem Tool (Jim and Georgia Athans), Dave’s Automotive, The Money Pit (Dave Dolan) and the citizens of Tehachapi for dropping their donations into containers in local stores. A special thank you is extended to Ranch Supply, who donated many, many items to be used in the packages. The most recent shipment to the overseas troops consisted of 29 packages, weighing a total of 800 pounds. A crew worked for several hours on Saturday, April 14, boxing up the items. Once again, our thanks.
