Saint Paul was inspired by God to write, "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead." Paul knew that the fact that Jesus has been raised gives our lives meaning and purpose.
Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like if Christ had not been raised. Paul said that our lives would be meaningless and we would feel hopeless.
Without the resurrection of Jesus, there would be no joy, no peace and no love in the world. In fact, if Christ had not been raised, there would be no Christian religion.
Our sins have been paid for because Jesus died and rose again. There would be no saving faith and no eternal life for us if Christ had not been raised.
We praise God that Christ has been raised from the dead. He has completed God's plan for our salvation and He has won the victory over death for us.
Because our Lord rose from the dead, we know that we shall also rise from the dead. God has assured us that our sins have been covered by Christ's righteousness.
Knowing that our Savior died and rose for us changes our attitude and our behavior. Now we see our life as an opportunity to serve our risen Savior.
Instead of wanting only worldly pleasures and material possessions, we are now moved to share God's love and tell other people about God. We want to use our blessings and abilities to help more people learn about the risen Lord.
Because Christ has been raised we can cast our anxieties on God and trust His promises to guide and protect us. May we all praise God and serve our risen Savior.
