I’m happy to report that the Rottweiler has gone to a good home. [from “Dog Neglect” — Letter to Editor, published April 25] Thanks to everyone who called with positive support on this situation.

I still feel there is a need to have something done about the way Kern County Animal Control responds to complaints and other situations. My dealings with them, especially Denise Haynes, has been more than unacceptable. She decided to put a “No Response” on my complaints and told her officers not to respond. It is their job to respond to all complaints/situations that have to deal with their office and that is what we, as taxpayers, pay them for. I received several calls from people telling me about their horror stories with situations that should’ve been handled by Animal Control. So, please feel free to contact me if you have had any dealings with them or maybe input on this subject.
