A Sobering Message for the Class of 2007Life's Hardest Lesson
by Heather Washburn-Moore, A junior at Tehachapi High School
A can of beer opens, they offer you a drink.
"I'll just take one sip. What could it hurt?" You think.
But one turns to two and two turns to four,
And after an hour your can barely see the door.
You walk to your car and your head starts to spin.
You fumble with the door and try to climb in.
The keys shake in your hand as you turn the ignition,
You're too wasted to realize this is your last mission.
You start out of the lot but you can't see the road,
A horn starts to blare, you faint from the load.
You don't get far before death comes your way.
Now it's all over; your life was stolen away.
Although you're now gone, it doesn't have the same effect.
You died without honor; You died without respect.
So here's some advice to help keep you alive.
Just say no. Don't drink and drive.
