Those of us that minister to the prisoners at CCI on a regular basis have been truly blessed. Most of the men we meet are open to hearing about the love of God and studying and meditating on scripture and prayer.
But it has occurred to me, especially after reading Sr. Prejean's book “Dead Man Walking” that there is something missing in our ministry. It has been somewhat out of balance. We have not done any outreach to the victims of crime. So we plan to extend our outreach to the victims.
On June 20 at 7 p.m. there will be a service at St. Malachy's Church for the victims of crime. We will pray, share scripture and conduct a brief healing service. All victims, regardless of faith affiliation, are invited to attend. Our intention is to help open the doors to healing for those who are willing to open their hearts and hurts to God. Please spread the word, we hope to see you there.
