The Tehachapi Valley United Methodist Church is pleased to announce that David Ofahenguae has been appointed pastor of its Backes Lane church, beginning July 1.
David will bring his wife and four children with him from San Francisco, where he has had a Methodist pastorate. Previously he has served as a pastor in New Zealand, Australia, Nevada and Greenville, Calif., since leaving his native Tonga birthplace. He has a total of nine years of experience and is looking forward to meeting current, past and prospective family members at the 10:30 a.m. services each Sunday.
Alice Oberg, the current pastor, has accepted an appointment in Santa Clara to fill a position created by the retirement of a pastor.
Mr. and Mrs. Ofahenguae will live in the parsonage and are expected in Tehachapi on June 28.
