Tehachapi volleyball club wins at southern California Regional Championships

0 responses 0 comments Over the weekend of June 9 and 10, the Tehachapi Starlings Volleyball 16s team won nine straight matches to become the Southern California Volleyball Association’s (SCVA) Platinum Division Champions.
In two days of pool play, the team defeated six teams, including Hawthorne, Lake Mathews, City of Los Angeles, Cal Poly’s Top Gun, and Kern River’s Gold team. On Sunday afternoon, the 16th seeded team beat SLO, San Diego’s Club Pacific and the highly-seeded Pali Kaepa in single elimination bracket play.
The team includes Sam Nunnally and Jessica Durham at right hitter, Makenna Boyer and Sarah Horcher at outside (left) hitter, Erin Golackson and Emily Blankenship at defensive specialist, and Paige Woodward, Jami Lankin and Kelsey Kapitzke at setter.
