What do the Bible, songs, crafts, games and “Hollywood Squares” themed skits have to do with each other? Starting on Monday, July 16, kindergarten through sixth grade kids can find out at County Oaks Church.
“God’s Rules are Way Cool!” is the theme of Country Oaks’ annual Vacation Bible School [VBS], which will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, July 16-20.
Carol Boyd, the director of Country Oaks’ VBS program, explained that while hearing about Bible characters like Samson and Daniel and how they chose to approach God’s rules, kids will learn how God’s rules apply to their lives.
“We usually have 100 to 150 kids,” Boyd said, looking back on the past five years of VBS at Country Oaks. She added there are usually about 50 helpers, ranging from adults to junior high and high school students. “It’s a ministry to everyone,” she said.
Parents may register their kids for VBS after church on July 8 and 15, or on the first day of VBS. There is no cost for the week long program. For more information, contact the church office at 822-1379 or stop by the church at 20915 Schout Road.
