TVAA chalks up another artistic success!

0 responses 0 comments On Aug. 11, 66 squares of sidewalk exploded with color — provided by approximately 75 artists, at the annual Chalk on the Walk event. It was a wonderful day, with great weather and lots of friendly camaraderie among the dozens crawling on the sidewalk. Family and friends cheered them on from the shady grass of Railroad Park.
Tehachapi Valley Arts Association Chalk on the Walk chairmen Peggy Cowden and Lois Wodke were extremely pleased with the turnout and the high caliber of art work done.
Peggy said, "Every year we see so many returning ‘artists’ and every year they get better and better."
Congratulations to the 2007 winners and many thanks to our prize donors and event sponsors. Proceeds from the event will purchase art supplies for our local schools, as well as provide grants and scholarships to graduating Tehachapi High School seniors.
