International exchange high school students are coming to study in the Tehachapi area during the 2007-08 school year. These students will integrate themselves into a Tehachapi area family with the goal of experiencing American culture as an American high school student does. In turn, they will provide insight into their own culture.
STS Foundation, a nonprofit student exchange organization, is proud to help facilitate these relationships. They have been doing so for the past 20 years and look forward to finding new host families in Tehachapi and connecting them with exchange students.
Students this year include Krzysztof, a 17 year old boy from Poland who loves playing soccer and working with computers. He is very excited to learn more about American culture. Ninon is a very active 16 year old girl from France who enjoys playing badminton, cycling and practicing Aikido. She also loves animals and nature. She says she is very excited to discover the people and traditions of America. They are both excellent students and will have their own spending money and health insurance. The host family provides a separate bed, family meals and a safe environment.
If your family is interested in being a host family, call Sean at 1-800-522-4678 or email seant@stsfoundation.org and visit www.stsfoundation.org.

The Committee for Safety of Foreign Exchange Students (CSFES) would like for all exchange students to experience a wonderful and safe time in America. Within weeks, approx. 27,000 students will arrive in the US. It is a fact that students have been placed in the homes of registered sex offenders and convicted felons. Anyone who suspects neglect or abuse of a student is encouraged to contact their local authorities. Visit www.csfes.org and read News and Reports of Abuse to learn how these are not isolated incidents. Thank you.
