Future Business Leaders of America at T.H. S.

The Future Business Leaders of America Club at Tehachapi High School is planning another successful year of leadership development, business skill enhancement, and community service.  The local goal is to make a positive difference in our school and community.  FBLA is the largest student business organization in the world with over a quarter of a million members.  FBLA prepares students for “real world” professional experiences so that members gain a competitive edge for college and career success.

Students enhance their portfolio with documented accomplishments as a complement to their academic experiences.  When applying for scholarships, they can demonstrate how they served in a leadership position, received awards, or participated in projects for the largest business based student organization in the world.

Locally FBLA is planning, conducting and learning from business and finance simulations, such as; The Stock Market Game, Virtual Business-Management and the “Rich Dad Poor Dad” real-estate simulation.  Also, the club prepares for regional competition, learns Robert’s Rules of Order, conducts fundraising and contributes service hours to the school and local non-profit organizations. FBLA is the largest youth volunteer force for the March of Dimes and has contributed over $13 million dollars to the March of Dimes.

If you are a parent, please encourage your student to investigate FBLA at T. H. S.   If you are a business and would like to join, checkout the FBLA web site at www.flba-pbl.org. or contact the author at T. H. S.
