Theater is for everyone but not every production will please everyone

I have enjoyed working with TCT for the past 5 years and have been part of the "family friendly fare". The list of plays I have been involved in whether on stage or behind the scenes is a long one, and not all of them were suitable for children; Same Time, Next Year, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Marvin's Room, to name a few. The list of family/children friendly is much longer, including The Diary of Anne Frank, I played Mrs. Van Daan along with my son Sam as Peter Van Daan, it was a wonderful experience for everyone.
Tehachapi Community Theatre will continue to produce family friendly fare for the majority of their shows. This show, just doesn't happen to be one of them. Theater is for everyone but not every production, just like books, music and movies, will please everyone.
If The Vagina Monologues isn't your cup of tea, then this show is not for you. I disagree with your comments, but that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. I'm not going to defend what Ms. Ensler wrote, because I believe as many others do, it stands up for itself.

I just wanted everyone to know that the Jimmy Buffet quote, "We are the people our parents warned us about." Was my personal email signature and not part of my letter.
That way it's put in there makes my letter sound snide and that is not my intent at all.
