There is a lot of activity at Tehachapi Community Church as members are making hundreds of apple pies. They have been doing this every fall for more than 33 years. They peel and slice the apples, roll the dough, and assemble pies which are then frozen and offered for sale. Customers return year after year to purchase the pies and keep them in their freezers until needed. Then they bake them and the pies are ready to serve. It’s very convenient to have homemade pies readily available for family dinners and special occasions.
The large 9-inch pies sell for $8 and individual small pies sell for $4. Sugar free pies are available by special order. Pies may be ordered by calling the church office at 822-4443. Pies will be sold on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. At that time baked as well as unbaked frozen pies will be available. Pies may also be purchased on Sunday, October 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. The church is located at the corner of Green and E Streets.
