John “Jack” Martindale, age 48, of Tehachapi, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, in a motorcycle accident. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at the Wood Family Funeral Home in Tehachapi. The burial site is located at the East Side Tehachapi Cemetery.
He was born January 7, 1959, at Altona, Manitoba, the son of Vernon and Joan Martindale. He was raised on a farm near Bathgate, North Dakota. He attended school at Bathgate and Neche, North Dakota. He graduated from Neche Public School in 1977. After graduating, he worked at the Pembina Bus Plant, worked construction in Beulah, ND then moved to Bakersfield, Calif. where he worked doing various construction jobs. He married Michele in June of 1988 and they later divorced.
From 1994 to 2004, he worked for various oil companies in the country of Yeman. Jack traveled to other countries as well, including the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Denmark, Cyprus and England. After returning from Yeman, he moved to Tehachapi where he met and married his wife, Melinda “Mindy” on September 23, 2006 in Carson City, Nev. At his death, he was employed by ProtoFlight, Mojave, Calif. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved to go on trips with his wife, Mindy.
He is survived by his wife Melinda “Mindy,” of Tehachapi, Calif.; daughters, Jillian, Brittany, Rachel and their mother, Michele of Bakersfield, Calif.; parents, Vernon and Joan Martindale of Cavalier, N.D.; sisters, Marquita (Bradley) Hains of Mankato, Minn., Wendy (Dean) Martindale Bergene of Mankato, Minn., Lorlee (Timothy) Peterson of Mankato, Minn., Peggy (Dan) Wirtz of Cavalier, N.D.; five nephews, Jay, Joshua and Blake Hains, Michael Bergene and Matthew Peterson, all of Mankato, Minn.; three nieces, Tess and Marissa Wirtz of Cavalier, N.D. and Robin Bergene of Mankato, Minn.; grandchildren; Aunts and Uncles, Glen and Donna McGlynn of Tehachapi, Calif., Howard and Kari McGlynn of Grand Forks, N.D. and Ron and Jane McGlynn of Suprise, Ariz.
