Large in numbers and strong on sound, the Tehachapi Pops Orchestra played under the baton of Conductor Robby Martinez at the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce’s “Shop Tehachapi” event, Dec. 1-2 making it a “one-stop shop and Pops” experience.
The orchestra performed in the West Park Recreation Building, receiving a standing ovation at the end each performance.
Tehachapi City Councilwoman Linda Vernon and Tehachapi’s Chief of Police, Jeff Kermode, “sat in” with the orchestra during a brief session, demonstrating their unique musical talents as the fun-filled set invited audience members to play along with toy instruments.
“The chief was a really great sport,” said Mayor Pro-Tem and T-Pops founder, Deborah Hand, thanking both for their participation and support. “But at the end he busted us all for disturbing the peace,” she joked.
