The focus of this year’s Tehachapi Real Estate’s Community Outreach Committee is honoring Tehachapi area families who have family members deployed to the war in the Middle East or who have lost loved ones during the war.

While military personnel are away, their families often are left behind feeling lonely, sad and emotionally adrift, explained Ginger Kunstmann.

“Our ‘Holiday Express’ drive is our way of hopefully making the holiday season a bit brighter for them,” she said.

“We have eight confirmed local families that we’ll be honoring,” said Valerie Baeza.
