Found Dog in the Humane Society parking lot:

Young female, black with tan coloring, about 30 lbs.

Please contact the Humane Society at (661) 823-0699

I have her staying at my house where she gets along wonderfully with my son and two dogs.  I have been calling her "Sama".  She is an absolute sweetheart!  She is particularly fond of the space beneath my son's crib.  She also likes to cuddle.  She was a little hungry, but overall she appears to have been well-cared for.

Thank you in HUGE amounts for doing the right thing; have also sent this to Susie @ Canine Creek who lists Lost & Found animals. Please contact the Humane Society at 823-0699, menu #7 (Lost & Found) as soon as possible, and hopefully this will turn out to be an even happier story. You definitely live up to two of my favorite sayings: 1. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make. 2. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

Cindy, you didn't mention if the dog had a collar or tags - it would help to list that information as well. If you need her scanned for a microchip, you can bring her to Canine Creek... we can check if she has one. We're open 10am to 6pm daily. I notified the local private rescues and posted this on our lost/found pets page. Thanks so much for giving this sweet girl a meal and a warm place to sleep on a cold night. :-)

She had no collar or tags, but when we put a collar on her she didn't seem to mind. She doesn't seem to be leash-trained, but my husband and I took her for a walk with our dogs today and she got used to it quickly. I think she might have some Collie in her- she learns unbelievably fast! She also learned to use a dog door after only a minute or two. I've been in contact with the Humane Society about fostering her until she finds a permanent home. We'll bring her in tomorrow to see if she has a microchip. Thanks for helping!

Thanks for helping this dog. Doesn't it just drive you crazy that people don't care for their pets!! She was probably hanging out at the THS parking lot because that's where she was dropped off..waiting for them to return...if you want to be a foster home for our new group: Save Tehachapi's Orphaned Pets-call me at 823-0111.
