Madeleine Lacost, better known as “Maggie,” who was 75 years old, died at home on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008. Born in Montreal, Qubec on May 11, 1932 and married to Leon Lacoste in Swanton, Va. on Feb. 11, 152. They were married for 45 years and lived throughout the U.S. including Hawaii, during Leon’s military career with the Air Force. They settled in Palmdale until they built a home in Tehachapi in 1990. Active members of the Moose Lodge and good friends with their neighbors, they loved living in Tehachapi.
Over the past two years as Madeleine’s illness progressed she was unable to keep up with the activities she enjoyed so much.
Madeleine was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Lacoste, her eldest son Michael Lacoste and a granddaughter, Becky Allsion.
Madeleine is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Allison and her husband, Steve of California, their children, Robyn Allison of Wisconsin, Robert Allison of Arizona, and Christina Allison of California; her son Daniel Lacoste and his wife, Sharon of Nevada, their children, Jason Lacoste of Washington State, Amy, Travis, Jeremy and Emily all of Nevada; her daughter Debra Taylor and husband, Ken of Nevada and their children, Jason and Brandon of Nevada; her son, Anthony Lacoste and his wife Tenise of Texas and their children, Shawn and Erica of Texas; sister, Denise Brooks of Vermont; brother-in-law, Real Lacoste of Illinois; and sister-in-law and Anna Lacoste of Vermont. She is also survived by Patty Kirby of Texas and Neil Browning of California, whom she loved as her children.
Madeleine was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Jan. 12 and interment at Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster, Calif., along side her husband and son.
