Three outstanding students were chosen as “Lions Club students of the month for January.
Steven Dessenberger was nominated at Tehachapi High for his academic skills, as well as his participation in extracurricular activities, which include drama club president and talent as an actor.
The staff at Monroe High selected Christine Buffin as their student of the month for January. Christine is a conscientious student who plans to attend college and become a successful equine dental specialist. Her other interests include working with various nonprofit animal rescue groups to help neglected and abused animals.
At Jacobsen Middle School, Freddy Benitez was honored as student of the month for January because he has a great work ethic and keeps himself in good physical condition by playing soccer for the local Gryphons team. Freddy is goal-oriented and eventually plans to become a police officer.
