Robert Neil Berry, of Bakersfield, passed away at home on January 18, 2008. Robert was born on February 16, 1958 to Neil and Pat Berry.

A longtime resident of Bakersfield, Robert also lived in Tehachapi where he in fact spent his adolescent years. He attended Tehachapi High School where he met and eventually married Roxanne Enge. This past November they celebrated 30 years together. After having worked in the oilfields for several years, the self proclaimed "Jack of all trades" became a welding inspector, more recently being employed by Newberry Technical Services. Providing for his family was always Robert's number one priority.

Some of his favorite pastimes include deep sea fishing, collecting John Deere memorabilia, NASCAR, Angels Baseball (catching that Rally Monkey) and spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his mother, Pat Berry, of Tehachapi; wife, Roxanne, of Bakersfield; daughter, Denise Bass, of Bakersfield; son, Christopher Berry, of New Mexico; son, Richard Berry, of Bakersfield; son-in-law, Aaron Bass, of Bakersfield; daughter-in-law, Amanda Berry, of New Mexico; honorary daughter-in-law, Jennie Thomas, of Bakersfield; sister, Karen Smith, of Glendive, MT; sister, Laurie Berry, of Tehachapi; brother, Kenny Berry, of Tehachapi; grandson, Zachary Bass; granddaughter, Alexis Bass; grandson, Bryson Thomas; countless nieces and nephews and in-laws who all love him and will miss him terribly.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Rolo Neil Berry; father-in-law, Joseph Enge; and niece, Joscelyn Cervantes, all of Tehachapi.

Robert was loved by all who knew him. Our world will truly never be the same. We love you Daddy!

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 26.
