Former Tehachapi resident, Venita Larose Smith left this life to be with her Lord on Jan. 19, 2008. She was 91-years-old. Services were held on Friday, Jan. 25 at Mountain Bible Church. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery Eastside. Dr. Marvin Slifer officiated both services.
Levita was born Oct. 3, 1916 in Los Angeles to parents Clarence Henry and Bessie Larose Landrum. She married Walter A. Smith, Jr. on Sept. 3, 1936 while still living in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Nancy and Robert Brady, of Bakersfield; daughter-in-laws, Sherrie Smith, of Missouri, and Sheran and David Woodworth, of Tehachapi; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and sons, James Smith and Jerry Smith.
