John Valenzuela, 58, of Monterey, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Feb. 25.

John was born in Bakersfield, on Aug. 16, 1949. He graduated from Tehachapi High School in 1968.

John was an outstanding football player and an All-League line-backer. He was most improved player in his senior year.

John joined the Air Force and served from 1969-1973. He was a military police officer.

After the military, John moved back to Tehachapi and worked at Monolith Cement until his retirement, a few years back. John loved the Bay Area and retired in Monterey.

John had numerous friends who will miss him, along with his family members.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; sons, Jason, Eric and Kyle; daughters, Shala and Shelby, as well as four grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Richard, Gilbert and his wife Freida, Frankie, Michael and his wife Karen, and Tommy.

We feel at peace knowing that John accepted Christ Jesus and will await us in Heaven. John was the fourth brother born here on earth. He is the first reborn in Heaven.
