JV baseball reaches tourney title game


The Braves’ bats came alive this past week in the Wasco Tournament, vaulting Tehachapi to the title game against Wasco in impressive pre-season action.
Mountain Baseball reached the championship with victories over McFarland (14-4), Shafter (16-6) and Delano (16-5), but fell in defeat in the championship to Wasco by a 4-2 score.


Zach Timm had two stolen bases while Jordan Beardsley scored twice against McFarland. Zach St. John recorded a triple and run scored, Zach Pettitt had two stolen bases and a run scored, Cody Miller had three stolen bases and a run scored, and Christian Torres had three runs scored and two stolen bases to highlight the action against the Cougars.


Against Shafter, the Braves had seven runs in the third inning alone, led by Anthony Urso’s two runs scored and a stolen base, Jordan Beardsley’s three runs scored and two stolen bases, and Timm’s two doubles and a run scored.
Tehachapi had an impressive 13 run third inning against Delano, led by Corey Torres’ three runs scored and Chris Rush, Zach Pettitt, Jordan Beardsley, Zach St. John, and Anthony Urso all rounding the plate twice in the contest.


In the title game against Wasco, Brian Davis and Zach St. John both had a double in the defeat.


Warrior Booster events and fundraisers


The upcoming annual Reversal/Vegas Night will be held on April 12 at the West Park Activity Center. This will be an adult only dinner and dancing. Mark your calendar, it promises to be a fun event. There will be a grand-prize $5,000 giveaway plus other great prizes via raffle. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased from Maria Curiel (823-1668) or Pam Booth (342-2579).


The athlete of the month breakfast will be at Kelcy’s Restaurant next Saturday, April 5, at 7:30 a.m. to recognize March athlete-of-the-month honorees for THS sports. The Booster Club will also hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Kelcy’s Restaurant. Meetings are on the second Tuesday of every month and the public is encouraged to attend.


Tomahawk Youth Football


The Tehachapi Youth Football (TYF) Tomahawk program will be having spring drills in April and May, every Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. starting on April 5 and running through May 10. The location of the drills will be at the Benz-Visco Youth and Cultural Park on Willow Springs Road just south of Highway 58. Interested parents and young athletes will need to sign a medical waiver form to participate.

THS having volleyball open gym


Every Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., volleyball will be holding an open gym for any interested eighth grade through high school aspiring volleyball player. The open gym will be every Monday through early June until school gets out. If there are any questions or interest,  contact head coach Sally White at 822-6687.

TRACK – at Arvin (Wednesday 3:30 p.m.), Frosh/Soph at Liberty-Bakersfield (Friday 4 p.m.)
GOLF – at Taft / Buena Vista Golf Course (Thursday 1 p.m.)
TENNIS – Varsity at Shafter (Tuesday 3:30 p.m.), JV vs. Shafter (Tuesday (3:30 p.m.)
SWIMMING – at CSUB Aquatics Center - Garces Invitational (Saturday 7:30 a.m.)
