Earlier in the season, Tehachapi had a forgettable pre-season game when Palmdale-Highland handed the Lady Warriors an 11-3 loss on the road.
Mountain Softball had their rematch at home last Wednesday against the same Bulldog squad, and the results showed a more polished and improved performance in a decisive 5-0 victory.
Tehachapi (6-5) turned the tables on their Palmdale guests, recording an impressive defensive performance and solid hitting in the big win, recording four runs in the second inning and an insurance score in the third.
On the mound, Kelsey Kapitzke pitched a seven-inning gem, allowing only one hit and recording nine strikeouts for the Lady Warriors.
Michelle Baxter recorded two doubles, an RBI and a run while Erin Golackson, Maria Berryman, Brittany St. John and Chrissy Whitman all rounded the plates for Tehachapi in the strong offensive effort.
Bre Farinas also had three RBIs for Tehachapi to help lead the Lady Warriors to victory.
Through 11 games, Mountain Softball has recorded victories over established Division I and II programs in the Central Section, defeating Golden Valley (3-2), Tulare Western (3-1) and Palmdale-Highland (5-0) while also dispatching South Sequoia League foes Bakersfield Christian (6-1) and Taft (10-2).
Season stats for Tehachapi include batting average leaders Katie Snapp (.462), Maria Berryman (.455) and Bre Farinas (.333). Ashley Carter leads the teams in RBIs with seven and doubles with four, while Kelsey Kapitzke is tops in hits and has two doubles recorded.

Games are played at the softball fields at the junior high campus. The public is encouraged to attend.
