Thank you Tehachapi News for using excerpts from my latest book (Tehachapi, Arcadia Publishers “Images of America” series) throughout your recent Historical Tabloid, and a special thank you to Jon Hammond for weaving snippets from my [insignificant] life into and interesting and well written interview.
I am also gratful to the Tehachapi Heritage League and Museum, and the Books & Crannies bookstore for hosting two separate book signings, which introduced my book to the local populace. These also provided me with the opportunity to persoanlly meet and chat with so many readers who “made my day” with their interest in local history. This was especiall exciting since the City of Tehachapi will be holding its Centennial Celebration in 2009. Such recognitin of local history is so important. Historian/Author David McCillough covered this when he wrote, “We should value what our forebearers - and that includes our parents and grandparents - have done for us; otherwise our history will simply slip away.”
I truly enjoy writing, especially regional history, and I consider it a great honor when my articles and books are so well received. Thank you all so very much.
