Ray Roy Nance 59, of Golden Hills, entered into rest on March 27, 2008 after a brief and sudden Illness. Ray was born in Inglewood, CA to Raymond and Alma Nance.

Ray had two older siblings, Barbara and Patricia, who would pay him to take the blame when they got into trouble. So, at an early age Ray found ways to make extra spending money. In his teen years, his love was surfing and the beach. In 1969, he was drafted into the army, but never did a tour of duty in the Vietnam  War. He worked many odd jobs but in 1981, he found a job with See's Candies in Los Angeles. Ray worked for See's for 26 years, as a maintenance man. He always said He had the "Sweetest" job. He loved his job and all the great people he worked with over the years. He was loved at See's and will be missed by many. Ray had what he called a "Dry" sense of humor, which everyone that knew him will miss.

Ray was lucky to have two of his own children; Vaughn Joel, 17 and Raychelle Lee, 11. He was also a Father to two other step Children: Christopher Curtis,19 and Krystle Leaelen, 26. Ray was always giving of himself, and loved all his children, blood related or not, very much.

Ray moved to Tehachapi to the Golden Hills area with his wife of 7+ years, Cheri and family in 2006. Together, they had made many lovely friends and neighbors. He enjoyed coming home to the mountain every night. He loved the peace that he found in this country town.

Ray and his Family will be celebrating his life at Tehachapi Central Park Gazebo On April 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Hospice Foundation. Funeral arrangements were made by Woods Family Funeral Services Inc.
