Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Diane Schmidt of Tehachapi are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Gale Schmidt, to Robert Guarino Jr., son of Dawn Beck of Lancaster and Bob and Cindy Guarino of Simi Valley.


Courtney is a 2006 graduate of California State University, Bakersfield, with a Bachelors Degree in Registered Nursing. She works full time in an intensive care unit in Bakersfield.


Robert is a graduate of Tehachapi High School. He is a licensed general contractor and the owner of Robert Guarino Construction.


Robert proposed to Courtney on Christmas morning 2007, at their home in Tehachapi.
The happy couple will be married Aug. 23, 2008, in Paso Robles, Calif.
