The Men’s Auxiliary of VFW Post 5948 is introducing to the Tehachapi community a new program named appropriately ‘Flags in the classroom - Flags in the community’.

Flags in the Classroom

The purpose of this project is to ensure that every classroom in the Greater Tehachapi area has an American flag in good condition and properly displayed at the beginning of each school year. This will be accomplished by a committee that will evaluate each flag in every classroom, with the permission and cooperation of each school.

Flags in the Community

Flags in the Community is designed to ensure the display of patriotism in all of Tehachapi. This will be accomplished by offering to replace any American Flag that is ragged and worn. If you do not have a flag we will give you one, including a 6-foot pole with Eagle ornament for your place of business or residence.
The Men’s Auxiliary will ensure the proper retirement of the old flags.
Your help is appreciated

The Men’s Auxiliary VFW post 5948 is a non-profit organization and is asking the support of the community. Donations may be in any amount. Business and individuals wishing to participate with a donation of $25 or more will receive in recognition, a framed certificate for their patriotic generosity to proudly display at home or business.

The Men’s Auxiliary will be contacting businesses door to door.
Individuals or business owners may send donations to the Mens Auxiliary at the VFW Post 5948, located at 211 W. Tehachapi Blvd.

Please help us show that Tehachapi is full of patriotism.
