It's that time of year again. AYSO soccer sign ups are upon us. We are having registration at the soccer park again this year. The first date is Saturday, May 3 and the second date is Saturday, May 17. Cost for playing soccer this year is $80. If you have more than one child the fee decreases by $5 for each additional child.

We will be out at Benz-Visco Youth Sports Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both Saturdays. We are having two dates again this year but if you wait until the second date, you run the risk of your child being placed on a waiting list. There is only so much room available in each division.

If you wish to pre-register your child, you can go online to www.eayso.org and follow the instructions. You will need to bring a copy of your child's birth certificate and three copies of the pre-registration forms that you completed online to one of the above dates. Remember that your child is not registered until the Registrar has received signed papers and entered the information in the computer. Forms must be signed by a parent or guardian.

AYSO Soccer is an all volunteer organization. If you are interested in helping in any way with AYSO please come to one of our registrations and sign up for something. We are always looking for good coaches, referees and support staff.  There is always somewhere to help. If you can't make it to one of the Saturdays, you can reach us by either calling the Soccer Hotline at 632-2644.

AYSO Soccer Camp

Come one come all to this year's AYSO Soccer Camp. This is a new group we have coming this year. They have a lot to offer our kids. They work through AYSO directly so they are trained with the same information that we teach here. Camp runs from July 28 to Aug. 1. We are having just one session this year from 4 to 7 p.m. Camp cost this year is $100. This includes a shirt and a ball for each child registered in the camp. Camp is held at our soccer fields. If you would like to sign up online, you can go to www.aysosoccercamps.org or you can pick up a pamphlet at one of the registrations in May.

Also in addition to the week long camp, they are offering a couple of classes on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon. These two classes are a goal keepers and a strikers clinic. These two clinics are $25 each. There will be information on these two classes at registration also.

You do not have be an AYSO player to participate in the soccer camp or either of the clinics. We will also be looking for a few families to host a coach for the week of camp. If you are interested in hosting a coach please let us know when you sign up for the camp.
