May 11 is Mother's Day and the Family Life Pregnancy Center of Tehachapi is gearing up for their 8th annual Baby Bottle Drive.

Anyone in the community can be part of this spring fundraiser. Simply call the center and schedule a time to pick up one baby bottle or a basket of bottles to fill with loose change. Return the bottles to the center the week after Father's Day, June 15. What an easy way to reach out and help someone.

The center exists to stand with women or men offering hope and assistance throughout a pregnancy and beyond. New parents are educated at the center on marriage and parenting skills through a program called, Earn While You Earn. Participants of this program earn “Mommy Bucks,” which they trade for diapers, formula, clothing and other essentials needed to take care of their baby. Donations from the baby bottles will also provide for abstinence education for local youth, childbirth education, and teaching materials and videos.

To participate in the Baby Bottle Drive or to find out about other volunteer opportunities, please call the center at 823-8255. Family Life Pregnancy Center — The Door of Hope, is located at 112 S. Curry Street. Center operating hours are Monday - Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Thursdays, 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
