Baseball goes extra innings

The Warriors will be riding high on offensive momentum heading into the playoffs after two-straight victories over Arvin last week 20-7 and 8-7 to end their regular season with victories in five of their last six games.

In the SSL finale, Robert Siegmund drove in the winning RBI (Johnny Holguin) in the bottom of the ninth inning after a single in the right field gap scooted past the infield. Sean Arbaut led the game with a 3-5 plate performance with a homerun, a double, and four RBIs, while Brock Tessandori scored a key 7-7 tying run in the bottom of the sixth when he was successfully stole home.

Mountain baseball will open up the playoffs this week in the Central Section Division III. For bracket information, log on to www.cifcs.org.

Harp Concert for Sean Arbaut Fundraiser

World renowned harpist Carmen Dragon has graciously announced that she will be playing at the Whiting Center in Bear Valley Springs on Friday, May-23 at 6 p.m. as a fundraiser for current Warrior third basemen Sean Arbaut to attend an All-Star baseball touring season in Australia. The two time All-SSL selection Arbaut is trying to raise money to play with the USA Athletics International All-Star team, who has recently bestowed upon him the honor to play in their circuit.

Carmen Dragon, known for her artistry on the grand harp, has served as the first harpist on the Glendale Symphony and has numerous recordings to her credit with Disney studios and entertainers such as Neil Sedaka and Mellisa Manchester. The suggested donation for the concert is $15 to help out Sean Arbaut continue his baseball dream on a national stage. For more information, please contact Kelly Arbaut at 821-0540 or kmarbaut@sbcglobal.net.
