The Stallion Springs C.E.R.T. team held a training session and checked out their supply trailer getting ready for the fire season.
Sandy Young C.E.R.T. leader for Stallion Springs said, “We would use the new Police and Administration building if we get it as an Emergency operating Center if we get it and us the Community Center as an evacuation facility for the residents and as crew quarters for the fireman.”
Kern County Fire Chief Joaquin Gaeta along with Stallion Springs Police Chief Brad Burris and Young checked out the equipment and came up with a list of items that were needed to be added to the trailer. Generators and lighting equipment were also run and tested. Homeland Security has provided most of the current equipment in the trailer.
Plans were set to meet with KCFD again in mid July to talk through how the C.E.R.T. team could work with them in the event of a fire and to work out a time for a full-scale drill.
The Stallion C.E.R.T. program was started by Young in 2003 and currently has close to 50 members.
