We're back. It's the 8th annual Benz Bad Bulls tour stop at the Tehachapi Rodeo Grounds on July 4th presented by Benz Inc. Because of the great community support and interest this year the event is going to be even larger and more exciting.
If you have attended the event in the past you know the action is non-stop for two hours starting at 6:00 pm after which the annual fireworks, including synchronized music, can be viewed from the same seats at the rodeo grounds. These are the best seats in the valley for the fireworks. The gates will officially open at 4:00 pm. Food and drink will be available all evening on the grounds.
The bull riding competition itself features some of the best bulls in the west brought to us by Humpz and Hornz Rodeo Co. out of LaGrand Ca. matched up against some of the best bull riders in the country. The large added prize money that is traditional here in Tehachapi draws bull riders from all across the west, many of which, have been seen on national television during Professional Bull Rider events.
Included in the bull riding is a fun and friendly local competition between local businesses and supporters. Local sponsors buy a bull and give it their name for the evening then at the event the highest marked ride on the sponsored bull wins a check and community bragging rights for the nest year. Last years winning entry was “ Warrior” named and purchased by M & M Sports. They received a check in the amount of $250.00 for the win. If you would like to participate in the buy a bull program this year or become a sponsor contact any member of the Tehachapi Mountain Rodeo Association.
The evening will begin with a patriotic salute to America, our Veterans, and the serving men and women of the Military Armed Services. Performing during the event will be members of Tehachapi's very own Dust n Diamonds mounted drill team. Adding to the excitement of the evening the Queen candidates for the up coming Miss Rodeo Tehachapi contest will be introduced and the reigning Queens, Miss Rodeo Tehachapi Brooke Sander, Jr. Miss Rodeo Tehachapi Allie Tully, and Little Miss Rodeo Tehachapi Taylor Cummings will also participate. 
This event along with the up coming Tehachapi Mountain Pro Rodeo in August would not be possible without the great sponsors that step up annually to insure top quality entertainment and promote community involvement. Additionally, the many hours of dedication and hard work by the volunteers cannot go overlooked. Community sponsors and dedicated volunteers truly are the lifeblood of The Benz Bad Bulls and The Tehachapi Mountain Pro Rodeo presented by City Slickers Restaurant and Saloon.
The Tehachapi Mountain Rodeo Association encourages you to buy your tickets at one of the pre-sale locations (Albertson's, Hemme Hay, The Tehachapi Chamber, Jake's Steak House, and The Emporium) at a discounted price and to come early because this has been a sold out event in the past.
