The Stewarts, Ray and Yolanda (Lonnie) celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 21 with a gala dinner at the Oak Tree Country Club. They were honored with the presence of their four children, Kathryn Staten from Copeville, TX, Elaine Lynes from El Cajon, Barbara Armer from Zamora, and Charles Stewart from Rancho Capistrano, together with sons-in-law, grandchildren, with their families including a brand new great grand-baby.
Family and friends totaling 105 were enthralled with the music of world renowned harpist, Alfredo Rolando Ortiz, who played during social hour and while the gourmet dinner was being served. After dinner, the Rhythm Girls D.J.s provided a wonderful end to a beautiful evening with their dance music. Lonnie and Ray met when he returned home on leave after the war (WWII) and his sister and friends arranged a date with Lonnie. They were married two years later when Lonnie finally reached the age of eighteen.
