Nancy H. Ecklund

Jan. 11, 1948 – March 5, 2006

Nancy Ecklund, a 28-year resident of Tehachapi, passed away on March 5 at USC University Hospital.

Nancy was born on Jan. 11, 1948 in Keene, N.Y., to Roger and Margret Minard. Nancy moved to California on a scholarship in 1966 and to Tehachapi in 1978 to settle down and raise her children.

Nancy was a long-time employee for the wind energy industry while she lived in Tehachapi and was employed by Oak Creek Wind Energy for the last seven years of her life.

Nancy was a wonderfully warm woman and had a great desire to take care of and see to the comfort of her immediate family. She loved to cook and her favorite dream was to own a restaurant of her own. A favorite pastime of Nancy’s was gardening and she could work miracles in the yard. Nancy was much loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Nancy is survived by her life partner, Phil Lagasse; daughter, Erin Tate; stepson, Jody Ecklund; sisters, Rae Ecklund and Debbie Hyman; brothers, Stuart Minard and Gary Minard; nieces and nephews; and grandchildren.

A memorial service in her honor will be held on April 8 at the Senior Center, located at 500 E. F St., at 11 a.m. Any who wish to attend are welcome. Any questions regarding the memorial can be directed to Rae at 823-1651.
